From where we are now, it is hard to believe that a few years back access to forms of communication such as the internet were hardly functioning. Our world has simply changed. The growth of technology has made it possible for consumers to be producers. It has simplified connections between human beings. The internet to be particular has made a way for easy and fast communication. This has made it easy for journalists or non-journalists to transfer information from one place to the other faster than any other generation. It is clear that power is shifting from the manufacturer to the consumer.
In journalism the same is expected to happen. The idea of citizen journalism is growing and society is beginning to open up to new traditions of accessing community news. Blogs for example are getting to the top of list when it comes to delivering news. Nowadays one without journalistic training could use forms of modern technology, to create or augment on their own without need for journalists.
